Payroll services for businesses in Ireland
If you employ people and need payroll support, start with how your payroll works today. We offer payroll services from our Dublin 2 base. Whether you are preparing to employ someone or reviewing an existing arrangement, explain the work you want help with.
Discuss your payroll needsStarting payroll or reviewing an existing arrangement?
A first employee creates a different enquiry from moving an established payroll. If you are preparing to employ someone, tell us your expected starting date, the number of people involved and how often you intend to pay them.
If you already run payroll, describe who handles it now and what you want to change. An enquiry may concern ongoing support, a particular payroll question or a proposed handover. Be specific about the problem so the conversation can focus on the relevant work.
Agree what payroll support will cover
Payroll can involve several people supplying information or approving a pay run. Before choosing support, identify which tasks you want handled and which will remain with your business.
Useful questions include who will provide changes to pay, who will approve the information, what records or reports you need and how an existing arrangement would be handed over. If you need payslips, payroll submissions or help with a specific record, ask about that explicitly. These are scope questions, not a promise that every task is included in every engagement.
A practical first message
You can describe the payroll without sharing employee identifiers or salary records through the enquiry form. Include:
- Your business activity and where it operates.
- The approximate number of employees and intended pay frequency.
- Whether payroll is new or already running.
- Who manages it now and any software you currently use.
- The support you need and any date you want to discuss.
Payroll alongside bookkeeping and tax
Payroll, bookkeeping and tax services are connected, but they are not interchangeable. If you want combined support, explain each need so the responsibilities and scope can be discussed together.
For a new business, you may also want to discuss company setup before deciding on your accounting arrangements. Our related service pages give you a starting point for those enquiries. We support businesses in Ireland from our Dublin 2 base.
Keep personal information out of the first enquiry
Send a general outline of the job first. Do not include employee PPS numbers, bank details, passwords or payroll files in the contact form. Discuss how any necessary records should be shared before sending them.
This page describes our service and the questions to raise when enquiring. It is not guidance on calculating payroll deductions or interpreting an individual employment or tax position. Those questions depend on the circumstances and should be addressed separately.
Questions before you enquire
- Can I ask about payroll before taking on my first employee?
- Yes. Explain your proposed start date, likely employee count and pay frequency so you can discuss the support you need.
- Can I enquire about changing an existing payroll arrangement?
- Yes. Describe the current arrangement and what you want to change. Any handover, records required and timetable need to be discussed before work is agreed.
- Should I attach employee records to my first message?
- No. A general description is enough to start. Discuss an appropriate way to share records before providing employee information.
